2008 was a big year for SSBL-Madison! The league was awarded the bid to host the 2009 Amateur Sports Alliance of North America (ASANA) World Series (formerly the women's division of NAGAAA).
Our recreational summer league maintained its size with 11 teams---all the same colors except for Periwinkle which switched to Gold. In addition, the league added a women's league Mad Women which became a member of ASANA.

Season Highlights
• Hosting the interleague games with Milwaukee over Pride Weekend and winning both the Madison Men vs. Milwaukee Men and Madison Women vs. Milwaukee Women games
• Hosting the 1st Annual Felicia-Melton Smyth Memorial Tournament in August raising $1,627 for the AIDS Network
• Volunteered to staff a water station for the Vilas Zoo Zoo Run
• Created a five team fall league

• L Team - 2nd Place in the Women's Division

• WOOF'S Madd Dawgs - 1st Place in the D2 Division of the Cleveland MIST Tournament
• The Doug Hinderliter Character Award was given to Joe Schraven and Tory Olson. One hundred dollars was donated to Outreach and the AIDS Network in their names.
